A practical social media approval process for client posts

Define reviewers, deadlines and revision rules, then use expiring Postfliq review links to collect decisions on a saved post version.

Client workflows

An approval process works when everyone knows what a decision covers. “Looks good” in a message may refer to yesterday's caption, a different image or just the general idea. Make the complete post the review unit: text, media, destination, link and any planned time that matters.

Agree on one accountable reviewer

Ask the client who can give the final decision. Others may suggest changes, but a post should not sit between contradictory replies with no owner. Record the ordinary turnaround time and the contact for urgent corrections. Do not assume silence means permission to publish.

For example, a small studio might submit the next week's batch on Tuesday and ask for feedback by Thursday. That is an example agreement, not a universal deadline. The useful feature is the reserved time for revisions before the publishing day.

Use decisions that lead to an action

Request review in Postfliq

  1. Save the complete post as a draft. Check the selected destination accounts and network-specific versions.
  2. As the workspace owner, open the post's action menu in Social Planner and choose Client review.
  3. Create a review link. On Pro, this does not use an invited team seat.
  4. Copy the link and send it through your usual client communication channel. Postfliq does not send the message for you.
  5. The client enters a name, reviews the post and submits one approval or change request.
  6. Read the decision in Client review, then revise or schedule the post.

A link opens one saved post, not the client's other content or your billing settings. Anyone holding the link can read the draft and submit its decision, so share it deliberately. The reviewer's name is supplied by that person; it is not an independently verified identity.

Links expire after seven days. Creating a replacement revokes previous outstanding links for that post. You can revoke a link yourself. Once someone submits a decision, the link cannot be used for a second one.

Request another decision when the post changes

Editing reviewable fields clears the current approval and invalidates old links. Earlier feedback remains in the owner's history with its version. This applies to wording, media, selected accounts and other reviewed details, including changes to the planned time.

Approval records feedback; it does not publish the post automatically or impose a mandatory approval gate on the owner. If your organization needs several required approvers or a formal policy that nobody can bypass, do not assume this lightweight workflow provides it.

Make requests easy to answer

Tell the client what decision you need and when: “Please check the caption, image and offer link by Thursday afternoon.” When changes arrive, clarify any ambiguous instruction before editing. Start with the Postfliq approval workflow and put review deadlines in your content calendar worksheet.
